“THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified ( acquitted, declared righteous, declarediven a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).” Rom 5:1 (AMP).
We are not going to be justified. We have been justified. Not by our works but by faith, even the faith is not our own. See Gal.2:16,20 (KJV).
We have been acquitted, declared righteous and given a right standing with God. Now we are as though we never did wrong all our life. We have been judged and found not guilty because there was found no evidence anywhere to accuse us. Jesus took all the evidence away. See how he did it:
…”Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Let’s together see Col 2:14-15 also:
14 and blotted out the charges proved against you, the list of his commandments which you had not obeyed. He took this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ’s cross. 15 In this way God took away Satan’s power to accuse you of sin, and God openly displayed to the whole world Christ’s triumph at the cross where your sins were all taken away
From the above scriptures we can see clearly that sin the reason for the war and animosity between God and man, the legal charge that was against us has been taken away and blotted out forever.
So when the bible says you are justified from all things (Acts 13:39) it’s not saying that God ignored your sins. What it’s saying is that you were arrayed before the court of heaven and you were found not guilty after all the rigorous proceedings. Nothing was found against you. Stop allowing the devil to torment your mind. God is holding nothing against you (Rom.4:7-8 GNB; 2Cor.5:19).
The supreme court of heaven and the chief judge of the universe has declared you just and justified!
You’re not guilt. You’re free from all guilt, accusation and condemnation. Satan cannot appeal your case.
Satan is only capitalizing on your ignorance. He has no charge against you. He cannot accuse you before God anymore as he did in the Old Testament because there is no evidence anywhere against you forever.
Right now you have peace with God. Meaning there is aggression between you and god. God is pleased with you and has accepted you as a beloved son. All because of what Christ did that has brought about a justification for you. God is happy with you. He is crazy about you. He is not angry with you at all. You can now come to him boldly without fear (Heb.4:16).
Just in case you fall into sin, the bible says:
1 John 2:1-2
My children, I am writing this so that you won’t sin. But if you do sin, JESUS CHRIST ALWAYS DOES THE RIGHT THING, and he will speak to the Father for us. 2 Christ is the sacrifice that takes away our sins and the sins of all the world’s people
(emphasis mine) (CEV).
Our father does not want us to sin but just in case we sin, we are not to go around crying and doing penance to bribe him. He said we should remember that we have Jesus who paid the price for that sin.
Condemning yourself because of the sin won’t change anything. It’s not your efforts that will forgive your sin but the blood.
You have been forgiven, forgive yourself and move on.
The eternally potent and redeeming blood of Jesus has forever washed and cleansed you from sin and it consequences. The blood not your good works has forever settled the sin problem. The blood is more than enough. Believe this and see yourself break free effortlessly from the clutches of sin.
Don’t behave like Adam who wanted to use leaves to cover his sins. Don’t behave like Cain who wanted to use the fruits of his labour to atone for his sins.
Remember that without blood there is no remission of sin (Heb.9:22). Its blood that remits sin not you sweats, your crying and restitutions. Stop giving offering for your sins (Heb. 10:18). The offering of Christ for sin and sins is more than enough (Heb.10:12).
You have a right standing with your father you can now go to him confidently anytime and day. You have rights before God. You are a son. Sons have rights. Claim your rights like the ‘prodigal son’ (Luke 15:12). Don’t beg for them.
You occupy a precious and a privilege place and position before God, your father. Take advantage of it. Enjoy it. You don’t have to live like a slave in the midst of the abundance in your father’s house. You can live a life of heaven on earth now. That’s your fathers burning desire for you.
You have peace with your father; there is no more war between you again (Isa. 40:1-2).
He is not looking for reasons to punish you,he is instead looking for opportunities to keep blessing you. And he found the opportunity, the opportunity is Jesus.
Beloved, there is no war between you and God again. Go to him today boldly.
