In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor Eph. 1:7 (AMP)
You’re not forgiven according to your sin but according to Gods riches and glory. So to know how forgiven you are, just find out how much is his riches and glory. Your forgiveness is boundless, immeasurable and infinite. You have been boundlessly, immeasurably and infinitely forgiven. Until you know very well that you have been absolutely forgiven, you will continually struggle with sin, guilt and condemnation.
The feeling of guilt and condemnation come because people do not know that they have been forgiven. And that feeling of guilt and condemnation is what drags people back to sin. That’s why Jesus refused to condemn the woman caught in adultery. He gave her the gift of no-condemnation so that she can go and have power not to sin anymore.
The revelation of the forgiveness of ALL your sins will empower you to live far above sin. You struggle with sin because you still thing God has not really forgiven you and he is on his way to punish you. This kind of thinking is the very reason why people keep struggling with sin even when they really do not want to. Peter said people fail to do right because they have forgotten that their sins are forgiven (2Pet.1:7-9).
The forgiveness of our sins is what removes us from satan’s dominion and places us far above all principalities and powers. What took us there was Adam’s sin but now that Christ has fully satisfied the claims of justice. We are can now live free forever from satan and his evil works.
In Christ alone is there redemption. In Christ alone is there deliverance from satan and all his works. If you’re in Christ you’re delivered not going to be delivered. Deliverance is not conducted; it comes by a knowing of what Christ has done for you. It comes by knowing where you are. Your place and position in Christ. This is what Christ meant when he said, in Jn. 8:32 ‘And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you FREE’.
In Christ we have salvation, not in our works but in his blood. The blood brought us out of bondage and positioned us in a position of favour and authority. We are no more slaves but blood bought son and daughters of the most high.
The incorruptible, unblemished and spotless blood of Christ is what ransomed us from that useless way of serving God that only blinded us and denied us all our rights and privileges in Christ. That religious lifeless Christianity that takes all from you and gives you nothing in return. That puts a yoke on you that even they who put it can’t even lift it (Acts 15:10). That sort of Christianity makes God seem so weak that we need to help him, and make him so mean that we must keep placating him to change his mind towards us and peradventure throw some crumbs of blessings to us. That type of Christianity that makes it look like Jesus did not do enough so you have to do more and more. That promises us sufferings, poverty and sickness here on earth and maybe heaven hereafter.
Let’s see a few versions on our anchor verse.
Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people — free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! (MSG)
Through the blood of his Son, we are set free from our sins. God forgives our failures because of his overflowing kindness. GOD’S WORD
So overflowing is his kindness toward us that he took away all our sins through the blood of his Son, by whom we are saved; (TLB)
The believer in Christ is blessed beyond measure. What Christ has done for us can never be quantified by any mind. We are forgiven because of God’s overflowing kindness. We weren’t just forgiven but we have been made free from all sins penalties punishments. Now in Christ we are not just free but abundantly free. Enjoy your freedom. Stop wishing for it. It’s already been paid for just believe it.
Christianity is easy and sweet anything that makes it so difficult is religion and satan at work. See Matt 11:28-30
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. 29 Walk with me and work with me — watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. 30 Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” MSG
Let’s see another version.
Come to me and I will give you rest-all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. 29-30 Wear my yoke-for it fits perfectly-and let me teach you; for I am gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls; for I give you only light burdens.” (TLB)
Here Jesus said he gives ONLY light burdens. So where did you get that heavy overload burden that is breaking your neck?
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest ( relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. 30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good — not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.
